Motor vehicle accident leaves one dead, others injured

On Behalf of | Apr 3, 2020 | Motor Vehicle Accidents

Getting into a vehicle as a passenger has its benefits. Passengers do not have the stress of negotiating traffic and dangerous road conditions. However, they also do not have control of the vehicle and are not always able to influence the way the driver handles changing situations. For the passengers involved in a recent motor vehicle accident, this resulted in tragedy.

Accident results in serious repercussions

West Virginia police are trying to reconstruct the accident that took the life of a passenger one recent afternoon. Apparently, the driver of a vehicle carrying four passengers took a curve too fast and lost control of the vehicle. It spun across the lanes and collided with a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. The impact of the collision decimated the first vehicle and resulted in the death at the scene of one back-seat passenger.

The driver of the other vehicle suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. However, the driver of the first vehicle and two of his passengers all reportedly suffered catastrophic injuries. Medical helicopters transported some of the accident victims to nearby trauma centers for treatment.

Police have not yet determined whether alcohol, distraction or other negligent actions contributed to the driver’s loss of control. However, these are questions many ask when facing the loss of loved ones or a long recovery from critical injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident. West Virginia accident victims can take their questions and concerns to a skilled attorney who can evaluate their cases and assist them in pursuing compensation through the most appropriate course of action.
