Theresa Teresh – Paralegal
Theresa joined the Law Office of P. Zachary Stewart, a predecessor of Carey & Stewart, PLLC, in January 2020. Theresa has worked her entire adult life in legal industry – she has more than 50 years of experience and shows no signs of slowing down. Throughout the years, she has worked in numerous areas of law including personal injury, medical malpractice, insurance defense, general civil litigation, family law, estate planning probate administration and real estate. Her wealth knowledge from the variety, depth, and decades of experience is unmatched amongst paralegals in the local legal community.
Theresa graduated from Madonna High School in 1968 and presently lives in Weirton, West Virginia. She has three adult daughters and four grandchildren. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, crocheting and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the West Virginia Mountaineers.
Tammie Buchanan – Paralegal
Tammie is a Registered Nurse/Paralegal that has worked with Attorney Carey since 2003. She brings with her a total of 32 years of experience. She graduated from Ohio Valley Hospital School of Nursing as an Intensive Care nurse. Her experience working as a Registered Nurse gives her the technical knowledge, empathy and compassion to communicate effectively with our Social Security, Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury clients.
Tammie and her family are members of the New Cumberland Heights Church of Christ. She and her husband are certified as West Virginia Foster Parents and have cared for several children in need. In her free time, Tammie is an avid hockey fan. With her husband, they have one adult daughter, a granddaughter, and three beautiful children that they adopted into their family.
Brittany Barrick – Office Assistant/Paralegal
Brittany has worked as a paralegal since 2014. She graduated from Oak Glen High School. She received private investigator certification from Penn Foster and received paralegal certification from Stratford Career Institute. If you’re one of our Family Law clients, you will get the opportunity to work with Brittany.
In her free time, Brittany is an avid hockey fan, loves making crafts and spending time with her husband Earl and beautiful daughter Kaiyah.
Paul L. Stewart, Jr. – Office Manager
Paul is a lifelong resident of Weirton, West Virginia. He is married to his wife Tina, and together they have two children, Kristen and P. Zachary (one of our attorneys), and three grandchildren.
Paul graduated from Weir High School in 1968. He completed his B.S.B.A at West Liberty State College in 1973 and earned an MBA from Wheeling Jesuit University in 1982.
Paul began his professional career as an Industrial Engineer at Weirton Steel. After leaving Weirton Steel in 1986, Paul was employed in various middle and executive management positions at the Pittsburgh corporate offices of both Rockwell International and Joy Technologies. Paul finished his business career as the General Manager/Plant Manager for the New Philadelphia Division of Howden North America.
Following his retirement in 2014, Paul began working at his son’s law office as office manager and now continues in the same role with Carey & Stewart, PLLC.
